Registered as a non-profit society in 1975, the Motorsport Emergency and Turnworkers Association has gained national and international recognition for its competence and professionalism in all aspects of motorsport safety.
While the club is most visible at the road racing courses at Mission Raceway Park, Pacific Raceways in Seattle, Portland International Raceway and in the past Molson Indy Vancouver, individual members often marshal at race tracks as far away as Australia.
META is an organization of volunteers. The club’s purpose is to promote safety at each event in which we participate. We also get involved in charity work such as the Variety Club Telethon.
One of the most important functions of META is our marshal training program, which teaches the basics of turnworking: flagging, communications, quick response, timing and scoring and other positions.
Our monthly newsletter, the Mayday, keeps our members informed of the latest racing news and what is happening in the club. Our members gather for social events as well, from fun rallies to our annual year-end awards banquet. We were also very proud to play a big part in the Vancouver Molson Indy.
Our membership meetings are open to everyone, and you are welcome to join us.
